Crisis & Behavioral Health
Dispatch mobile crisis teams, see every team on one map, staff 24/7 coverage with clinicians and peer specialists, and send each encounter back to your EHR — with the privacy controls behavioral health data demands.
Free for up to 10 users & units • No contracts • Set up in about 15 minutes
988 centers, county behavioral health departments, CCBHCs, and co-responder programs are standing up mobile teams quickly — usually on tools never built for dispatch or for protected health information.
A call arrives through 988, 911, or a warm line, then a coordinator texts or phones a team. Nobody can see which teams are free, where they are, or how long the person in crisis has been waiting.
Names, diagnoses, and substance use details end up in personal group texts, shared inboxes, and lock-screen notifications — exactly where HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 say they shouldn't be.
Funders, Medicaid programs, and county contracts want dispatch-to-arrival times and dispositions. Coordinators reconstruct them from call logs at the end of every month.
Clinicians write up the encounter in the field, then someone re-keys it into the EHR. Every re-key is time off the road and another chance for a transcription error.
A dispatch and field platform for teams that respond with clinicians instead of lights and sirens — built to work alongside your EHR, not replace it.
Create calls with your own call types, priorities, locations, and notes, then alert the right team by push, SMS, email, or voice. Every call is timestamped from receipt to cleared.
Custom statuses fit your model — En Route, On Scene, With Client, Transporting, Cleared — and coordinators see every team on one map to send the closest one.
Unit roles define the seats on each team — licensed clinician, peer support specialist, EMT, or co-responding officer — so coordinators know exactly who is riding together.
Build rotating shifts, fill open slots through in-app pickup, and alert only the teams on shift. Staffing levels show who is available right now.
Track clinician licenses, peer certifications, CIT, naloxone, and de-escalation training with expiration dates, so a lapse shows up weeks early instead of during an audit.
Per-team call times from dispatch to on scene to cleared are captured from status changes, with call volumes by type and exports for county, payer, and grant reporting.
Advanced Data Protection
Crisis calls carry some of the most sensitive information a health program handles. With the Advanced Data Protection add-on, Resgrid encrypts it field by field, keeps it off lock screens, and releases it only where you approve.
Call nature, notes, narratives, attachments, contact details, and custom fields are encrypted with AES-256-GCM under a key that belongs to your organization before they are stored.
Revealing protected fields requires a fresh multi-factor check and a short-lived grant. A stolen password or session on its own is not enough.
Push, SMS, email, and voice alerts default to a generic sign-in notice, so a client's name and situation never show on a phone's lock screen or in a carrier's message log.
BigBoard shows only the call number, priority, status, and assigned team — never the narrative or a precise location — so a dashboard on the wall doesn't expose anyone.
Tag custom fields as Restricted or 42 CFR Part 2. Part 2 fields are only released to your EHR when the call is marked consent on file; otherwise the send is blocked and logged.
Resgrid signs a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement with organizations that have Advanced Data Protection enabled on their department.
Call received
A call is created with the client's EHR identifier stored on it, encrypted.
Team dispatched
The closest available team is alerted, and each status change is timestamped.
Outcome captured
Disposition and structured findings are recorded in custom call fields.
Call closed
An approved Protected Workflow builds a FHIR R4 Encounter with Observations, or an HL7 v2 MDM message.
EHR updated
The EHR's encounter ID is saved encrypted on the call, and the release is recorded in a hash-chained disclosure log.
Advanced Data Protection is an optional add-on and a technical safeguard. On its own it is not HIPAA or 42 CFR Part 2 compliance, which also depends on your policies, configuration, agreements, and training. Resgrid is not an EHR or a 988 contact-center system.

Most crisis programs don't need a full public-safety CAD. They need dispatch, location, scheduling, secure communications, and a clean hand-off to the EHR — in one system.
What you use today | Examples | Typical cost | Included in Resgrid |
|---|---|---|---|
Team dispatch coordination | Phone trees, group texts, shared spreadsheets | Coordinator hours + slower response | Dispatch console, alerting & live map |
Vehicle & team location | Phone location sharing, Samsara, Verizon Connect | $25–$40 per vehicle / mo | Unit & Responder app AVL |
24/7 staffing schedules | When I Work, Aladtec, Excel | $1,500–$5,000 / yr | Shifts, trades & availability |
Team messaging | Consumer group chats, paging apps | $800–$1,600 / yr | Messaging, chat & optional PTT |
Credential tracking | Spreadsheets, HR file folders | Admin hours + audit risk | Certifications with expirations |
EHR double entry | Manual re-keying, one-off interface projects | Clinician time + interface fees | Protected Workflows: FHIR R4 & HL7 v2 |
Typical combined spend for a regional program: $4,000–$9,000+ per year in tools, plus the coordinator and clinician hours spent bridging them. Resgrid replaces the stack with public, entity-based pricing.
Every minute a coordinator spends calling around for an available team, or a clinician spends re-keying notes, is a minute not spent on the person in crisis.
